HOW DOES DOUBLE ELIMINATION BRACKET FOR 4 TEAMS WORK?
Teams advancing from the Pre-Qualifiers Stage are ranked based on their results from that stage.
Initial Round – Qualification to Semi-Finals
In the first round of the main competition (also referred to as Qualification to Semi-Finals), teams are paired as follows:
· Rank #1 vs Rank #4
· Rank #2 vs Rank #3
The winners of these games advance directly to the First Semi-Finals. The losers move to the Losers Bracket.
First Semi-Finals
· The winner of the Semi-Finalsadvances to the Regional Final.
· The loser of the Semi-Finals moves to a final qualification game (second Semi-Finals).
Losers Bracket
· Teams that lost in the initial round compete in the Losers Bracket.
· The winner of the Losers Bracket advances to face the loser of the Semi-Final.
· The loser of the Losers Bracket game is eliminated from the competition.
Classification game (second Semi-Final)
The game between:
· The loser of the Semi-Final, and
· The winner of the Losers Bracket
determines the second team that advances to the Regional Final.
Regional Final
The winner of the Regional Final is crowned the Africa Regional Champion.
Double Elimination Format
This competition uses a double elimination format, meaning:
· Teams are only eliminated after two losses.
· Every team has a second chance to remain in the competition after losing one match.
